My life has been spent in theatre, starting at age 7 with the Actors Co. in Chicago. Two plays at Senn, and then off to the University of Wisconsin and productions with Wisconsin Players. My next move was to Hawaii, where except for an 8 yr. hiatus in the 1970's, I've lived since 1962. In 1998 I was honored with the Hawaii State Theatre Council's Lifetime Achievment Award given to one person each year for contributions to Hawaii Theatre. Over the years I've also received 14 additional awards for acting and directing. I've appeared in several T.V. shows including "Hawaii 5-0," Jake and the Fatman," "Tour of Duty," "Blood and Orchids," and "Raven." I've also written and produced 2 musicals with husband, Norm. A member of SAG and Actors' Equity, I'm now in my 14th year as head of the Theatre Dept. at Hawaii Pacific University, where I'm an Associate Professor. I have 2 daughters, Melinda and Becky, and one grandson, Mickey. |
