From 1955-56, I spent a year majoring in Music at Indiana University.   During that year, my family moved to Ojai, California, so I transferred to UCLA and changed my major to English Literature.   While at UCLA, I met Howard Brager, an engineering student and in 1959, we were married.   In 1961, our first son, David was born and we bought a home in Canoga Park, California.   Howard completed his masters degree shortly after our second son, Ken was born in 1964.   In 1967,   we moved to Richland, WA, where Howard pursued his Nuclear Engineering career.   I was a happy housewife and taught folk guitar while our boys were young and then decided to pursue a full-time career.   I sold real estate for a few years and found that I was more interested in doing the market evaluations than in sales.   I was delighted when a local real estate appraiser hired me and I worked with him while I was earning the RM and SRA designations.   After a couple of years, I started my own R.E. appraisal company .   I loved appraising and must have been good at it.   During my career, I received two appointments to Fannie Mae?s Regional Quality Control Panel and was a special Review Appraiser for H.U.D. Both Howard and I retired in 1994 and have enjoyed traveling.   Howard is an excellent oil painter and I make jewelry that is sold in northwest galleries.   We are fortunate to have both our sons and their families living   here in Richland so we can spend time with our grandchildren.
