I retired in August of 2003, after 30 years of working in a local college. It was a great job, but I felt it was time to leave. I still go back from time to time in different offices to help out at certain times of the year.
I have gotten involved in several different volunteer positions and am enjoying myself. It's also nice to have lunch, or just get together with other friends who are retired and not have to punch a clock. I FINALLY finished college in 1985, after many stops and starts. although it did nothing for my job situation, I felt as though I had accomplished something I had wanted to do for a long time. I have three great kids and two adorable grandchildren. Two of the children, and the grandchildren, live about 600 miles away, but being retired I can see them on a fairly regular basis. All in all, life is good. |
