After 2 yrs. at North Park College, I finished at Miami University (Ohio) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Instead of an art career, I landed in business as the International Benefits Admin. of a large law firm in Chicago (over 50 offices worldwide). I retired 3 yrs ago. I've had lots of opportunity to travel with parents, friends, my job and my husband (mostly Europe, Canada and Asia). We've been skiing regularly for over 40 yrs. (even when I was 5 mo. pregnant). We still take at least one ski trip each year. My husband of 35 yrs. is an Interior Designer so putting my two cents in on his countless Designer Showhouses, March of Dimes Gourmet Galas, etc. has been great fun for me. We have one daughter, Sonja, who went to CU (Boulder) and lives in Denver with her spouse. No grandchildren yet. Since CO. is one of our favorite destinations, we visit often. Then too, Sonja gets homesick and comes back for a "Chicago fix" now and then. I have continued to paint, and one of THE most important jobs I have is to design our Christmas cards. For the last 18 yrs. it has been a reproduction of my painting of a Chicago citiscape or something from our travels. Ever the "late bloomer", friends tell me it's not too late to become another Grandma Moses.
