Andrew J. Paine, Jr. retired President and CEO of NBD Bank, N.S. and Executive Vice President, First Chicago NBD Corporation, earned his B.A. from DePauw University in 1959, MBA from Indiana University in 1967, and holds a certificate from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers.   Mr. Paine serves as a director of AmerUS Group and is a past director of Indianapolis Life Insurance Company, Bankers Life Of New York, Indianapolis Power & Light Co., IPALCO Enterprises, Indiana National Corp and a past Trustee of Citizens Gas Co.

Honors and Awards:   1972, Indianapolis Jaycees Key Man Award;   1978, DePauw University Alumni Citation;   1982, Sagamore of the Wabash Award;   1983, Junior Achievement gold Leadership Award, its highest volunteer award for Exemplary National Leadership;   1983 named to the Indiana University School of Business Academy of Alumni Fellows;   1984, Wabash Award; 1999, Charles L. Whistler Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service in bringing together the public and private sectors for a better Indianapolis;   2000, recipient of the Old Gold Goblet, presented annually to DePauw University's outstanding alumnus in recognition of "eminence in life's work and service to Alma Mater", and, 2001, named a member of the Indiana Academy.

Hobbies:   Art collector and beach walker.

Family:   He and his wife, Jane, have been married 42 years and have three children and eight grandchildren.
