Guess I should start out with the fact that I am STILL married to my high school sweetheart, Paul (Buddy) Kessler. We live in that far away place know as the southern suburbs of Chicago - to be exact Flossmoor. We have 2 wonderful married children and 4 even more wonderful grandchildren.
I graduated from U of W - Madison and taught 3rd grade in Lincolnwood for 3 years until my daughter was born. At that point, I retired from teaching and have spent the years as an active volunteer. Out here in Flossmoor, I was elected to the school board. So, I guess I qualify as a politician. Then I went over to the other side and was an Illinois lobbyist for a group of south suburban school districts. During the years, I've served on several national volunteer boards (National Council of Jewish Women; Women in Community Service; and Prevent Child Abuse America) and currently sit on the National Human Services Assembly and the Home Instuction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters boards. I also sit on the board of the Jewish Federation of Metroplitan Chicago. Buddy and I spend the winter in Boca Raton where I have just started playing on our community team tennis. I have never played in competative sports before - shocked myself!. Guess we're never too old for something new! |
