Started college at age 31 - Northeastern Illinois University, BA 1976 and, Northwestern, MA, Counseling Psychology, 1978. Worked inpatient psychiatry at Northwestern and as a therapist, supervisor and consultant/trainer   with severely mentally ill, homeless and ethnically diverse people as well as a private practice psychotherapist for about 30 years.   Was executive board member of Illinois Ethnic Consultation - Coordinator of Refugee Mental Health Program working with people from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Romania, Ethiopia and Haiti - did training for the state of Illinois on Refugee Mental Health.   Most of the work that I did in Chicago was in Uptown "our hood".   Taught Psychology at Oakton Community College, Columbia College and Native American Educational Service.

In 1989 I moved to Mill Valley, California and live among the Redwoods and Mt. Tamalpais. When I walk outside of my door - 1 block to 3 different coffee shops, an Art Theater
that has a yearly Film Festival - and see the incredible beauty that surrounds me, I know I am blessed. I now see people and facilitate groups specializing in "Transitions", including midlife (and older), retirement and specialize in Divorce and Divorce coaching.   Am also an active member of my Synagogue.

My passions are my children, ages 46 and 48 my 8 year old granddaughter and 2 granddogs, getting into my VW Camper and driving mountain roads and camping, doing my art and writing.   I still come back to Chicago and miss much that is there but love it here.I have so much more in life to experience.Oops it's time for a Latte!
