I've been married to Marvin (Senn '48), a now-retired pharmacist for 45 years. We have 3 great children, Michael and Kenneth, both physicians, and Maureen who works in retailing.
I attended the University of Illinois and Roosevelt University, became an elementary school teacher, and taught in the Chicago Public Schools for over 10 years, both as an assigned teacher and then as a substitute after my children were born. In my late 30's I had a mid-life change of careers and became an accountant. I then became a CPA and worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Agent for 17 years, both in Chicago and in Phoenix. Since 1997 I have been happily and voluntarily unemployed (i.e., retired). I can now devote time researching Marv's and my family in my hobby of genealogy. We lived in suburban Chicago until Marv's retirement in 1994 and then moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to escape the notorious Chicago winters. Marv and I have done quite a bit of travelling in the United States, Canada, Europe, and last fall in South America where we had a memorable vacation touring the Galapagos Islands and Peru, including the highlight, Machu Picchu. There I indulged in another one of my hobbies, photography. What an interesting and speedy 50 years it has been! |
