Following graduation, I was college bound to the University of Illinois in Champaign, where I received a B.S. in Education. I went on to teach 5th grade, marry, and become the mother of 2 children.....Adam Berman and Marcy Berman Padorr.
While the children were young, I completely changed careers and became a public relations consultant for the next 20 years, founding two companies, and ultimately selling Sondra Berman Public Relations. During that period, I divorced, and then married, Sidney Epstein, my husband of 18 years. I went on to become President of Epstein Real Estate, a division of A. Epstein and Sons, International. Sidney and I have 6 children between us and 17 grandchildren ages 9-25. We are extremely blessed with lots of family. I've had some interesting accomplishments...i.e. being a guest conductor, for an evening, of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; becoming a Bat Mitzvah at the age of 65; an appointee to both the Illinois Arts Council and the Advisory Board of City of Chicago Cultural Arts Department; chair of the board of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago; and long standing involvements in many other philanthropic endeavors including the Chicago Foundation for Women. Sid and I continue to travel extensively and are active hikers and bikers. |
