I was on the faculty at Senn while you were there.   After some years of retirement (to raise 2 daughters), I happily returned to teaching - first at New Trier West High School and then, when it closed, to New Trier East High School until my retirement.   The students were very similar (socially and economically) to the students I worked with at Senn.   I taught a "variety" of Social Studies (World History, U.S. History, British History and Political Science) until, with permission of the school board, I was allowed to write research, develop and teach a semester course on American Criminal Justice - for seniors only.   This course was so in demand that - to my great joy - I taught it exclusively for the last 12 years I was at New Trier (four sections per semester.) My students and I went beyond the classroom - to conferences, courtrooms (primarily 26th and California) and local jails.   Many of my students entered the justice system (lawyers, an occasional cop and one who told me he was in charge of a jail facility out west).   Maybe, not surprisingly, I continue to teach American Justice.   Currently, 2 or 3 times a year, I teach 3 week seminars for adults enrolled in a nationwide organization, Oasis.   My next classes will be in October 2005 and, as a rule, about 100 will attend.   I also proctor Prairie State, ACT, SAT, PSAT and ADVANCE PLACEMENT exams when they occur at New Trier.
Occasionally, I am a guest lecturer for men and/or women's groups and I am also active in 2 book clubs.
My other major activity involves family.   Our older daughter and her husband live in Bannockburn, IL with their 7 children and assorted animals.   Our younger daughter and her husband live in Glencoe, IL with their 4 children and one dog.   My husband and I are actively involved with the children, including taking them on vacation trips and attending their school and sporting events, spending quality time with them, etc., etc.
