I'm tempted to separate my life into two neat parcels. The first one in Chicago, growing up on the west side, moving to Senn high, and then going to the University of Illinois. I married, lived in Skokie and had three children and began to paint as a hobby.
Then in 1968, the second part begins. Starting with the Democratic Convention and ending up in Victoria, B.C., where the life changes have been intense. My husband and I split up in 1973 and in that year, I started living with Annie Weeks, and we've been together ever since - thirty-two years now. Since completing a degree in fine art at the University of Victoria in 1979, I have become a full time professional artist. I've been fortunate to have been able to earn my living as a painter since that year. I've shown in all the galleries in Victoria and throughout the west coast of both Canada and the U.S. and I'm still going strong!
Two of my children live in the states and the third lives here in Victoria, with her two children. I have three other grandchildren in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and get to see them as often as I can. Annie and I have traveled to Europe, many times, and to Israel. We've taken numerous trips to the southwest and the areas near us in Washington, Oregon, California and B. C.
I'm excited to share my Senn High reunion with her and with all of you, and hope that at least some of us will recognize each other.
