I graduated U of Ill. in 1958 and Northwestern Law School in 1961. Received Masters of Law in Taxation in 1963. Practiced corporate and tax law in Chicago 1961-2003. Have been writing travel guides since 1973 and have written 29 books. Current books include "Stern's Guide To The Cruise Vacation" (an 850 page annual guide to all cruise ships, cruise lines and ports-of-call around the world - the book that gives cruise ships their star ratings); and "Stern's Guide To The Greatest Resorts Of The World" which covers the 100 most luxurious resorts around the globe.
I have three children living in the Chicago area and 2 reside in Boca Raton, Florida.
