Being inspired by Senn math teachers Ms. Foster and Ms. Antoine, I went on to IIT, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. As a curious scientist-engineer I?ve developed many electro-optical-mechanical products for both the telecommunications and healthcare industries. In the 60?s, I developed power supplies for telecom, solid-state switches for the Mercury and Gemini space programs, and remote radiation monitors for Civil Defense. In the 70?s I developed automatic nuclear spectrometers, for medical research and archeological carbon dating, and automatic blood analyzers for clinicians. In the 80?s I developed instrumentation for ENTs to measure nystagmus to diagnose inner ear problems. Also, with three partners, I founded a company to develop, manufacture and sell digital monitors for medical imaging. We sold the business to a competitor two years after producing and selling our first monitor. Also, I developed and sold a software package for removing distortions produced in nuclear medical cameras. During the late 80?s and 90?s as a technical-product-development consultant, I developed communications over CATV for bar vending in hotel rooms, blood analyzers for clinicians, and a laser scanner for measuring electrophoresis plates. Also, serving as an expert witness, I was instrumental in helping Beckman Instruments win a patent infringement suit against LKB.

In the mid 90?s I switched from engineering to developing business software. I am presently developing business software for SBC to deliver new voice, video and data services. I?m having way too much fun to retire!

I have authored seven patents and have published five articles on nuclear detection.
While ?Chicago? has always been my base, I have traveled to many cities in Europe, Russia, Asia, Australia, Canada and Mexico.

On the personal side, I have two sons, a grandson, and a wonderful new mate, Lina, who keeps me challenged and inspired. Lina and I are very active with biking, tennis, golf, skiing, swimming, ballroom dancing, theatergoing and travel. We especially like to travel in a topless car, which we?ve done through many National Parks, Death Valley, Cape Cod and the Florida Keys. We?ve also taken road trips in Canada, Italy, and the French Riviera.

I?m looking forward to chatting with ya?all.
