Following graduation, I attended Navy Pier for two years and then went downstate to get a BS and MS in Metallurgical Engineering.   I then spent two years in Aerospace as a Research Engineer at Rocketdyne in Southern California where racing sports cars was an all consuming hobby.   I then traveled to Ames Iowa to get a Ph.D. in Metallurgy at Iowa State University.   Following graduation, I joined Honeywell as a Research Scientist and spent a career in research and management.   During that time I was an Adjunct Professor of Materials Science at the University of Minnesota and also took a two year leave of absence to join the National Science Foundation (at their request) to be an interim Director of the Ceramics Research Program (Potomac Fever is a genuine disease).   I?ve been with start up companies ever since I retired from Honeywell.   At present I?m a principal with a small technology company focusing on noise and vibration management.   I have two children (and two grandchildren) from a previous marriage and have been married to my present wife for 33 years.   Our house on Lake Minnetonka is exactly three miles from the first tee of our golf club where I serve on the Board of Directors.
