My husband has ?stood by me ?for 41 years. My beautiful daughters Jennifer & Deborah & their supportive husbands have brought me 5 grandchildren and one to arrive in August. They are loves of my life.
My careers have been in Occupational Therapy and Social Work. I am still working as a Social Worker at Lutheran General Hospital. My travels have included Asia, South America, Australia, Africa & Europe. As a French Major in college I am able to communicate in French when I visit my favorite city, Paris. In the ?decade? of our last reunion I was involved in Social Work Missions: Romania to assist with the Romanian Orphanage fund; Costa Rica where I provided Social Work services; Xpuijl, Mexico in the Yucatan; the Peruvian Amazon where I visited villages with the local Shaman. Around that time, I wrote & published articles including: Shamanism, folk remedies & plants in the Amazon, a travelogue on Malaysia, memories of my childhood summers & history of ?Michigan City: The Land That Time Forgot?, & an article on a leper colony in Chiang Mai, Thailand. My current interests are spending a great deal of time with my family. I am enjoying the present rather than planning future goals. A difficul task for me as I have always been ?looking around the corner?. I am really lucky to be attending this our 50th high school reunion. |
